Donald W. Hanson had over 35 years of experience in U.S. intellectual property law, including patent and trademark preparation and prosecution, trademark oppositions, designs, copyright, licensing, litigation, and interference.

 

Don’s technical specialties included a wide range of technologies in chemical engineering and biotechnology.  He had worked on cases dealing with polymers, semiconductors, batteries, refrigerants, manufacturing processes, printed circuit boards, materials, metallurgy, and nanotechnology.

 

Don received a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University, and a J.D. degree with honors from The George Washington University.

 

Don enjoyed watching college basketball and Iowa football games, and was an avid supporter of a local college basketball team.

 

He was married to Lee, and had a son, Andrew, who graduated from The University of Virginia and is currently a civil engineer.
